Seeeeaaaxxxyyy Laaaaddiiiiesss AAAAAAAAA
Due to the early(ish) night we were able to get up relatively early to go....QUAD BIKING!!!! With our fabulous new buddy Zach acting as tour guide and helping us to not get lost we were able to speed our away around the island. INCREDIBLE. You may think that providing Melody and Dwyer with heavy mechanical vehicles is a ludicrous idea, however, we were pro's! Well... sort of. Dwyer seemed to lose Melody and Zach on a continuous basis as they were major speed junkies! Yet we all made it back in one piece after seeing some beautiful views from the peaks of the island. Highlight - managing the windmill dance whilst speeding on a quad bike and finding a secluded sandy beach to dive into to get cool half way round - hard hard life!
Then, unfortunately, we had to say farewell to The Pink Palace. Sad times indeed. We did manage to get our final shuttle bus by Socrates - a greasy Greek Diego whose phrases include 'Aaaaaaah seeeaaaxy laaadddieees...whadda faack!' and likes to yell obscenities and beep in happiness to every single car on the road...at one point a motorbike was riding alongside us having a quick catch up with him...on a busy road...at about 50mph! He also likes to drive without his hands whilst arrring like a pirate...will miss this Greek legend a lot! Scary but exciting bus ride!
Despite, having an amazing time on the first stop of the tour, we knew the arrival of the Josh, Kyle, Ben, Stef, Mark, and Melody's parents - Heather and Adrian will be an amazing week sailing around Corfu and other Greek islands. A lot of Greek beer (Mythos) was consumed whilst travelling to our first stop. As soon as we anchored into our secluded bay we all dived off the front of the boat and into some cool...clear blue water...soooooo gooooood! After some hilarious laughter of Stef looking like a happy seal...Kyle being made fun of for being pretentious 'EXPAND YOUR LUNGS!!!' and then...the beautiful image of Ben dressed up as Hermes and being our boat's figure head, we decided to get dolled up and...using our offboard motored dingy, drive to the nearest little town for dinner.
Obviously the boys were ready first...women's prerogative...so Josh, Kyle and Mark the driver made it first to land only to have the dingy stall and die. This led to a good hour and a half of them trying to find someone to help them and the rest of us drinking a little too much and snacking a little too much on the boat. After finding a water taxi the heroes came back to the boat with kebabs and pizza - we've never been so dolled up for such a takeaway!
The copious amounts of alcohol proved hilarious at bedtime. Josh Ben and Melody decided to sleep on deck with a drunken Ben and giggly Melody creating a beautiful little den at the front of the boat whilst the 2 meerkats Louise and Stef poked their heads out of their hatch wondering what the hell was going on...after a good hour of constructing such a wonderful sleeping quarters Melody and Ben finally settled down only to hear Ben say...'I'm hot' and laughter to ensue again...whilst they were attacked by Stef's feet.
Maybe we need to have shandys instead of full on Mythos tomorrow...we shall see...sorry if blogs are few and far between - finding wifi in the middle of the ocean...quite hard!! But we will update you asap!!!
Much love
Dwelody xx
