IMPACT-Kenya School Health Programme

De-worming tablets are administered to children in all the schools that IMPACT East Africa works with in Kitui District, since intestinal worm infections are widespread.  Parasitic infections can compromise already malnourished bodies, leaching protein, iron and vitamin A. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommend regular de-worming of 'at-risk' schoolchildren, alongside the promotion of preventative hygiene measures.
