It has had its day...

This is a miniature of a Jowett Javelin circa 1952. Dave's paternal grandfather owned one of these (a larger version!)

It was passed on through the family and Dave said his mother "gave it a good thrashing" - with the result that the crankshaft broke.

The car is currently in Dave's brother's paddock in the North Island. It has been there for some time.

It may be that it is beyond hope. Restorations like this take a lot of money and time....
