Diary of an Edinburgher

New statue

I contacted Apple support - I was very impressed with their promise - 'We'll ring you within 2 minutes'... If every company was like that!  But they did not ring within 2 minutes... though they did text me to say they'd tried. I must say, I was slightly sceptical. Until JR said she tried to ring. No - there is something wrong with the phone. Technician coming on Thursday evening. Apologies, Apple.

I fiddled around trying to get my music through the Bose sound system, but it's another thing you need a computer for...

Popped off to the hospital this afternoon for a check up on the last check up a couple of weeks ago when my lungs passed their tests. I can now come off the pills. The journey there and back took at least an hour, plus waiting time, and I was in there for all of 5 minutes. Still, can't complain.

I had my phone and a couple of albums downloaded for offline listening, but as we rattled up those cobbled, potholed roads at high speed on the bus, my earbuds kept being shaken right out!

I got off the bus in Princes Street to pop into a techie shop - I needed at least one lightning to USB cable for charging iPhones. Just as well, because I spotted a new statue that I'd heard about, but wasn't exactly sure where it was.

It's a statue of a Polish soldier with Wojtek the bear. A famous local story. It's a lovely statue, in memory of the Polish men and women who died in WW2.

It wasn't raining today when Archie and I walked round the block and had a run in the Links (not me!), so you'll be pleased to know that I was fully dressed...
