Electrical fault

There has been an ongoing electrical fault at work.
Regular bouts of nothingness.
Tuesday morning and a hole had to be dug.
At one point there were eight - yes eight - men standing around this hole.
Anyway they re-wired stuff, plugged it all back in and we were ready to go back to our desks.
How did we live without the electric?
