Himalayan Silver Birch

It was chauffeuring duties today as wife was returning from her week’s climbing in Spain. One of her group lives on the outskirts of Cambridge so she had a lift from Stansted to Cambridge. I had a little wait there and was rather taken with a couple of Himalayan Silver Birch adjacent to my parking place. It seemed to me that these striking trees provide an alternate autumnal colour. That colour is rather hidden when the trees are in full leaf but once the leaves drop the trunks and branches come into their own.
