Another Day in the Sun
Another day of unremitting sunshine in this north eastern utopia. We spent some time this morning sitting in the sun being mesmerised by wave action on the beach at Sandend before getting the bus along the coast to the metropolis of Elgin and a rendezvous with son#1 and family.
It has been too long since we have seen him, daughter in law#1 and the twins Anna and Finlay. They are nine now, and surprised us by how much they had grown.
We listened to their prowess on the piano, chanter, drums and guitar before Finlay subjected me to the sort of IQ tests involving matchsticks, squares and numerical series which showed up my lack of intelligence. However after a few glasses of wine it didn't seem to matter, (or it seems to his father, caught with a wine glass in his hand!)
There was a bus trip back to Sandend and a dark walk down to the cottage with no nothern lights for the second night running.
