Trek Day Three

A morning spent walking around Chennek camp, which is a good place to see the local wildlife. There were scores of baboons but Abdelah was keen for us to see the rare Ethiopian ibex, so we crept around looking in likely spots and were rewarded by seeing a family group of nine and watched them for some time.
We had a picnic in this spot with a glorious view. The highest (flattish) peak on the left is Imet Gogo, where we stood yesterday morning on our way from Geech to Chennek.
After lunch the driver arrived to pick us up and take us back to Gonder. We stopped at Debark on the way home to drop off Abdelah and Addis and we had a coffee at the Great Lobelia Hotel. The girl in the lobby was performing a traditional Ethiopian Coffee ceremony, so it took some time. The TV was a big distraction (see extra) as there was an Ethiopian soap about a woman cheating on her husband and everyone was transfixed...
