Na na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na na..
A great day in Alingsås with Yvette and her family. Miniman got to experience Swedish pre-school for a couple of hours with Yvette's youngest children Cherise and Timeyon. It's amazing how there is no language barrier with kids. The language of play is so much more powerful than all of the words that we can ever learn, along with facial expression and movement. There is an awful lot we can learn from them.
This evening we all had dinner together Yvette, Mikel, Mariella, Emil, Sammy, Eli, Cherise, Timeyon and us. It was fabulous. I remember the first time I visited Yvette and had dinner with her family. Three of her kids were teenagers at the time as well (Cherise & Timeyon not born yet) and I came away from there amazed at how they all talked to one another across the table about their day and life in general. There was no grunting and sulking. It wasn't like a family with teenagers at all. It hasn't changed. It was still fab. I'm so pelased that I make an effort to always eat at the table with Miniman and anyone else that comes to my house.
Miniman was presented with more Birthday presents after dinner, some lego and a ninja turtle that flies. Goodness knows he needs more toys (not!). He was pleased though and gave hugs and kisses all round with a big smile on his face.
Indeed "actions speak louder than words".
