Toots in Solitude

By Toots

Dundas Street

A woman stood in the middle of the pavement, spitting to either side of her between dragging on a cigarette and accosting every passer-by for a £1. As I was waiting for a bus I watched curiously the responses of the people as they in turn tried to ignore her/politely decline/edge around her/look sheepish/etc. But no-one gave in and no-one smiled.
