Souda Bay

A bus trip into Chania followed by another bus to Souda Bay. The purpose was to visit the WW11 War Cemetery. I wasn’t fully aware of the wartime history of this island and have learned a great deal.
 
We managed to negotiate the local bus service thanks to a lady at the bus stop who spoke excellent English and made sure we got off at the correct stop for the 30 minute walk to the cemetery.
 
Just outside the cemetery R rescued a chicken hell bent on a great escape! Safely returned home she blocked off the escape route.
 
We went back into Chania for a wander round the market and quirky little shops.
