SCILLONIAN III
Packed, cleaned the cottage and down to the quay with our suitcases to store in the container for Penzance by 9:30am. Then back down with loaded rucksacks to leave in the waiting room. We then had a leisurely stroll round the coast to Juliet's Kitchen for a lovely lunch, and the staff brought out a surprise ice cream pud for G with Happy Birthday written in chocolate sauce!
Then another leisurely stroll back round the bay to the boat. The photo is of the ferry after she docked to drop off just a few visitors, but to pick up quite a few leaving birders.
EXTRAS:
A calm crossing with accompanying Dolphins, and a couple of Whales but I missed those as I am shorter than everyone else who leapt up in excitement to watch. The sunset before we reached the mainland was spectacular.
Collecting the bags was a bit of a scramble but after an hour of driving we reached the hotel where I had booked one of their standard rooms for the night, and dinner as it was G's birthday. I can only guess that is why I was led to the Courtroom Suite. When G arrived upstairs with the bags he was as flabbergasted as I was. It was Massive. The bathroom was as big as our bedroom at home! We needed a map! We had a superb dinner, and the breakfast next day was equally as scrumptious. Thank you Trehellas House, it was magnificent.
As was the whole holiday, though my feet still ache!
