The Great Divide
One of the nicest things about being in Ayr is that there are plenty of places and things to make use of your camera. If you are fed up with demonic seagulls and overfed pigeons there is water everywhere. The sea, the river, the sky. It's to die for, quite possibly if you aren't careful. I got myself a packet of face cleansing wipes from Boots and wandered down Blackfriars Walk at the back of the shops and Auld Kirk and nearly slipped through the railings into the River Ayr on a slippery patch of ....something dropped by a feathered fiend I suppose. Anyway, I lost my little bag from Boots! Up into the air it went and fell into the water with a big splash. My camera isn't equipped for underwater picture taking and my attire wasn't great for swimming either. I was lucky! As for the environmentally friendly Botanics wipes, I'm sure the seagulls had a good dinner.
Once I'd got over the shock, I reflected on my narrow escape - see what I did there? Refected! - and made the most of the opportunity on the side of town I don't often visit.
The song for today is The Great Divide from the wonderful Black Country Communion. It's one of my favourite tracks from Joe Bonamassa's group project. The River Ayr could be a great divide, just about.....
