Trick or treat

I was volunteering in the shop at the Staffordshire Wildlife Centre today and I arrived early.  I parked and went down first to the Boardwalk to look out for the kingfisher, but I thought I heard him and headed for the lake nearby. There he was, quietly perched and watching. I was mesmerised and it took me ages to reach for the camera.

Later I spotted him by the riverbank, but the water was too high for him to fish there.

Hallowe'en and the end of Half Term - we had numerous witches and pumpkins (a particularly cute three year old !!!), all following our Hallowe'en trail and squealing with delight as they reached for their prizes and set off the ghoulish hand which grabbed them as they chose !!
