Half Moon Run

For various reasons, I've been driving the girls' car a lot of late and I'd planned to take take it down to Nottingham, today. However, the weather was a bit crap this morning and certainly not ideal for driving, so I opted to take my car. (For rather convoluted and also dull reasons, both cars were down at the Minx's).

In the end, though, it wasn't as bad as I feared and I made good time, arriving just before eleven. I then had a very good meeting with one of my favourite clients. However, it did last five hours, so I was feeling a little tired when I got in the car. Still, the satnav said it would only take me two hours to get to the venue where I was meeting the Minx, our friend Maxine, and my daughter, Hannah.

Unfortunately, no one had told the satnav it was match night and it was three and a half hours later when I finally parked up, hungry and car-weary. The venue, Gorilla, also has a restaurant and bar, where we'd arranged to meet, and - God bless the Minx - when I arrived she'd already ordered food and drink, so I was able to sink straight into a beer. I was soon feeling like myself!

I was fully refreshed, then, when we went down to the gig, which was a band called Half Moon Run. I didn't know much by them but they were great musicians and had some really good sections to their songs although, to be honest, I found the actual song-writing a bit bland. But it was an enjoyable evening out and I am doubly indebted to the Minx as she drove home, too!
