Parliamentary Reflections
After voting time on a Thursday MSPs start to get ready for their journey home - in my case this evening via a branch meting in Lochgoilhead .
This is the first dark Thursday in Parliament evening since the clocks changed so when I got back up onto the 4th floor corridor of the Members Block I immediately noticed the difference in light and the myriad of reflections in the windows, including this , looking towards the Ministerial Block.
One of the American interns saw me taking it and said "You missed the sunset about fifteen minutes ago". Then I showed her this picture and she admitted that it was better than what she thought she wanted to capture - something that brought to mind that perceptive comment by the American theatre critic Brooks Atkinson ; "The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking - and looking."
Looking is what daily photography via blipfoto teaches you to do.
