Rememberence
This morning we took the children along to the Lady Haig Poppy Factory, the only factory in Scotland. They gave us a tour of the place and we spoke to all the men who volunteer to make the poppies. We got to see all the stages of the process. Last year the poppy factory in Edinburgh made 5.3 million poppies all by hand. England made 14million but they don’t make them by hand, they have machines that do the job.
The children got the chance to make some poppies which will be sold. A very special experience. They were all given juice, biscuits and fruit. That made them happy.
We had ordered a wreath from them and today we were able to pick it up. We will take it to a service in November.
And in the afternoon we had a Halloween Party!
And I’m still eating ready meals.
