Hygrocybe Conica

I would never set out to collect fungi from the wild but do sometimes take one or two home when I find specimens that have been knocked over. So it was with a group of blackening waxcaps that I found this morning on the village football pitch. I'm hoping to use these to help me design a new triptych of lino prints showing the different stages that the blackening waxcap goes through (although I now have such a backlog of designs that it will be sometime before this gets printed).
