Pecking around

After I'd been to my painting group I wandered down to the castle to get a blip before doing a bit of gardening.

These young jackdaws were pecking amongst the leaves by the moat. While I was standing there photographing them I spotted a rat come up from the moat bank and start looking for food where people feed the ducks. Their time is limited as traps have been set. It's photo is an extra as I know that not everyone is keen on seeing them large!
