B is for..........
Bridges.
We have lots of bridges in Manchester.
Road bridges, Railway bridges, Footbridges, bridges over canals, rivers, and roads.
Modern bridges, victorian bridges, metal bridges, wooden bridges, brick bridges, stone bridges, even a medieval bridge.
If I felt the urge I am sure I could blip a Manchester bridge a day for a very, very long time.
However that would get extremely tedious.
My choice has been dictated by time constraints and my route to work. (full time employment is soooooo restrictive).
These are the two covered footbridges that link the Manchester town hall extention, at first floor level, to the original town hall building. They were built, as was the extention, between 1934 and 1937.
I think they look older and I really like them.
As you can see there is some remedial work going on at the moment.
