Fairy woods

We must have chosen the right time to visit the lakes as the colours of the trees are wonderful at the moment. This wood is just below the pub where we stayed (where incidentally they provide complimentary tea and cakes)!

I am not usually a fan of woods, bit dark for my taste, but this morning the dappled light and the warm colours were friendly and appealing! 

I must say the National Trust do a super job with their selective planting in the woods they manage, well done to them, I'm a convert to woodland!
