Just across the bay

We’d planned to go to Vesuvius, thinking the weather was going to be overcast.  As it turns out to be scorchio instead, we decide a day by the pool would be a much better idea; Matt takes this to mean we’ve completely given up on our original plan.
 
At lunchtime, discover that the hotel restaurant does a very good spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino.  

While Mo and I are having a drink after dinner, there’s a thunderstorm with spectacular lighting. This is something I completely fail to take a good photograph of, naturally.
