Meet Colin

We set off reasonably early to Thorp Perrow Arboretum near Bedale. We've only just discovered it so this was a first. It was lovely walking through the woods and the trees were a full range of autumn colours. Clearly the gentleman in the extra picture had stayed too long admiring the view though! At one point Mum had two damsel flies canoodling on the back of her skirt! (see extra)

We enjoyed two different bird displays, morning and afternoon - barn owl, eagle owl, caracaras, hawk etc. This is Colin, the Eagle Owl. I loved the way he walked, he was quite a character. The caracaras were entertaining too.
