Another Repair
My Braun electric razor, which I've had for more years than I can remember, gave up the ghost a couple of days ago. The batteries weren't holding much of a charge and I'd been using it plugged in most of the time.
I decided to take it apart to see if I could change the batteries. It looked as if it would be easy -- they were AA-size NIMH. But they weren't quite standard AAs -- they had little pins welded on the ends and were thus a bit longer than the replacements. I had to use shims to keep the new ones in place.
The razor hums happily with the new batteries, but when I plug in the charger cord the indicator light is red instead of green. It might be time to buy a new razor. I checked the prices and have a severe case of sticker shock.
