Andalucia Day Five
This morning's breakfast treat, apart from cake of course, was this young chap playing Flamenco guitar for us. What a good start to the day.
A three hour bus coach journey to Granada, with a stop for coffees half way. We had made a wee cheese and ham sandwich at breakfast time, and we arrived in Granada mid afternoon. A quick stroll around town with the guide to orient ourselves. And we're right in the middle of it all.
We walked up the road to where you can view the Alhambra up on the cliffs above. We accidentally ordered a big plateful of tapas with our drinks. It was like a meal.
We also accidentally bought a (quite big) ceramic pot with Picasso-like drawings. Don't know how we'll fit it in. Should have got the smaller one... Eeeek!
But we booked for a flamenco dancing show tomorrow night!
A group meal tonight. The cafe were quite lavish with the wine - it kept flowing and the group got noisier. After the meal, we popped into a nearby groovy cafe searching for chocolate cake. But we had cava instead, which was accompanied by a tasty dish of chicken nibbles.
Out early tomorrow to the Alhambra. Exciting!
Photos:
The young breakfast guitarist. No idea who that annoying bloke in the background is. He's not one of ours.
This girl sounded like Joan Armatrading. She was fantastic and I gave her my bus money.
These two had just got married. The bride had tucked her long dress into her glamorous handbag. Didn't see any other guests.
The first view of the Alhambra. Note the BIG shopping bag!
I also added a shot of the nice wee bar by the bridge that we popped into last night in Seville.
