Farewell To The Vulcan.
Another outing, this time to witness the last flight in the north of the Vulcan XH558, on a route over East Fortune Airfield towards Dalkeith, before heading off towards Carlisle.
It duly appeared in the distance but then diverted north, disappeared from view, to eventually return and fly over us, to the consternation of three deer in the field below (extra photo 1) and then off on its way south (extra photo 2).
We later learned that it was by special request, that the plane had flown over Edinburgh Airport before recommencing its predicted route.
Tomorrow it will take its last flight on the southern route.
