Sparkling LIke Bloodshot Diamonds in the Snowfall
I just did something really, really scary.
I was all calm, and I said to himself, "Amma going to go out and look for aurora and maybe shooting stars".
Himself says "Are you sure you don't want me to come with you because it's dark, and you might be scared?"
I looked at him and laughed "ho ho ho, no".
And then I got in the car.
And I drove bout half a mile from the house, and realised it WAS Dark.
I drove up and over the little hill - towards "THE VILLAGE" (said in scary film overtalking voice ) - I was driving towards the north in search of aurora. As I drove into THE VILLAGE, i was strangely drawn towards where we used to stay.
Himself always says "No".
It's a one way street - there is no through road, it's always double parked, and you will always get stuck. As I turned the corner and faced it, my heart rate quickened and my snottering nose, snottered even more.
I drove carefully, (heaven forbid I run any of them over), and reached the house we used to live, I looked carefully for a turning point, drove in, reverse and headed out.
My heart rate only started to drop when I left the actual VILLAGE.
And then it sped up again as soon as I stopped and switched off the lights to look at the sky. I rolled the window down, and immediately imagined a scary hand coming in and mussing my hair up.
So I put the foot down, bammed the lights on and shot home.
And put this photo up which I took at 5.30 pm tonight. I loved this human at the waters edge, lost in though, with his dog to keep him company (and a wee lady in a sari 100 yards along, peering into the water's edge.
