There were shadows earlier which made a pleasing pattern on the nearby steps, but they had all but disappeared before the arrival of the man from the specialist carpet cleaning firm to uplift the Indian rug which had duly appeared yesterday from deepest darkest Yorkshire.

His Lordship and I had thought it would need two men to manhandle it, but in the event he managed it by himself by dint of folding it a different way, which just goes to show that ingenuity and expertise can accomplish much.

On our shopping foray, we noticed another new café opened beside the Royal College of Surgeons. That should make an interesting eating place if we are ever brave enough to venture in.
