Day 2

An early start and we were of on the bus to the VTC which is the vocational training centre for young people who have came through the street kids projects. They can learn to work with electricity carpentry welding and car mechanics. Through sponsorship accommodation and food is also provided while they learn. They are usually there for around 7 months. We had a basic lunch of bread cheese and bananas with the young people. In the afternoon we went to kigali genocide memorial where 2590000 people are buried. Myself and the only young lad on the trip Ewan were away from the group and managed to wander info a secure zone where we were frisked searched and questioned by one guard only then be surrounded by guards. Luckily Ewan had a can of Irn bru in his bag which they took in return for our release. The picture for today is a plaque at the memorial in the words of a child.
