Toulon
We spent most of the day in Toulon which is a short hop on the local boat navette, 2 euros. Toulon has a very different feel to it than Nice, smaller and definitely not as touristy. When we were here 4 years ago the place was a hive of activity with a lot of rejuvenation of these old buildings, and it continues, there are some fantastic places that are getting some love; however, many shop fronts are shuttered like these. There's a lot of graffiti, some of it interesting, a lot of places covered in tags too.
We browsed through the market then found an excellent place for lunch in one of the many squares that have fountains. We ate rabbit with olives.
More wandering through the narrow streets. Bought a sweater as I was cold. We looked around Toulon Cathedral which was impressive.
In the early evening we headed back to Les Sablettes and I rushed down to the beach for a swim before dinner. I wore my new sweater in the evening which kept me warm.
