Wick bound..

..via Forsinard Junction.

A day in Inverness. Left early to pick G up from the airport, returning from a visit to her mum. Also had the car booked in to sort out a squealing noise from the front brake.

Stopped off at the garden center for a cuppa and bacon roll. And chance to chat quietly. Then on to that place that boasts "you can't get quicker than a ....... fitter". A month or so ago, they did a brake service, and MOT test. Involve fitting new front brake discs and pads. It's been troublesome ever since, with an annoying squeal when steering to the right. A quick dab on the brakes, and it stops, but comes back again in no time. They originally sorted out a seized brake caliper, but it still made the irritating noise. So I called in again today, expecting to have a new caliper fitted. They took it all apart again, and cleaned up the caliper, and said it didn't need replacing. Felt slightly relieved, but a little doubtful. And 30 miles up the road, it started again.. Not amused..

Did a little bit of shopping, and had a good look around the charity shops while the car was being looked at.

Had a meal in the FBI in Ullapool on the way back, very nice..

This shot taken of the A82 bridge over the railway in Inverness. The train on the left is bound for Wick, but has to make quite a trek inland via Dingwall and Lairg. The train to the right is the Royal Scotsman. This train offers tours of Scotland, with the atmosphere of a country house. Downton Abbey on wheels!!..
