Excursion
Took my parents on a steam-hauled excursion to Tweedbank on the Waverley Line. The photo shows my Dad admiring the A4 Pacific streamliner "Union of South Africa". He said he hadn't seen one since he was in the third year of senior school, about 70 years ago and he was delighted. The weather wasn't great, so the views from the line could have been better.
We were met by Mme A who was cycling back home from Hume. In order to finish in daylight she preferred to spurn (a good) lunch in Tweedbank rather than be fetched home by car at nightfall. For someone French, this showed commendable dedication to training!
