Soldiers Blue
Today's entry is a photograph of a little print I bought a few weeks ago at the Out of the Blue Arts Café.
I had no idea that this cafe existed and (like a lot of things in my life it would seem) it was a little bit of a revelation when I discovered it (Columbus, America etc etc). After I had bought my little print, I got chatting to a lovely work placement student who was helping out in the café and she gave me a tour of the building and the many little studios that it's home to. She was a delightful girl who was happy to work for next to nothing just for the experience and I sincerely hope she gains something out of her efforts. Anyway, I'm digressing a little. For those of you who don't know, the Out of the Blue Arts Café is situated in the old Drill Hall, Dalmeny Street, Leith, which was built in 1901 for the Royal Scots regiment and was used for many years as their barracks. I'm a Leither born and bred and I never even knew this. At the moment, I'm wearing my *ashamed face* and I hope you can see it.
Anyway, here's a photo I took of the Drill Hall, here's a link to the Out of the Blue Arts Café and here's a link to the Drill Hall itself.
