Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2015 Friday -- Polar Vision

We ended the day with a lovely stroll on the sand. It was a very BUSY Friday. We drove to Paseo Robles so we could purchase ALL the appliances for the kitchen (forgot to get a garbage disposal--details, sheesh!).

Had a meeting at the cabinet shop to finalize the cabinets and countertops -- the kitchen will be the centerpiece of the house and certainly the most expensive room. Before we left the house for Paseo, our contractors tried to talk me into less expensive countertops.

I've considered all the options for countertops, and I like what I've selected. I've spent my life being thrifty, economical, and budgeting. I think we can manage this. I'm currently teaching two extra classes and two labs and if I can, I'll do so for several more semesters.

November brings the birthday that makes me old enough to draw my SS and still work fulltime, so I've applied for that--it's a small monthly benefit, but every little bit will help.

We are remodeling and we plan to continue even though it's costly. Currently we (with 3 very well behaved pooches), are staying in the very small, but comfy, downstairs guestroom without hot water because the new water heater is not yet installed as the two upstairs bathrooms are being built. We're not only calling this our sawdust season, but also our cold shower season (burr). So that's the update from Funville Central Coast.
