Broad beans..

..busy yesterday, I just didn't find time to get a blip.. Started harvesting at 11, and then couldn't get to the scales to weigh up. The potatoes I dug on wednesday were in the way. So I sorted through those and put them into trays for storage over winter.. Then weighed up and printed an invoice and delivered. Back home and boxed the eggs up. Cooked some tea, had a shower, and out delivering eggs..

Today has been a little more leisurely. Animals sorted, and then start shelling all the beans I picked yesterday. Got a colander and saucepan full from three baskets. A pot on with boiling water, and one by it's side with cold water, and trays with towels to dry them. Blanch for a minute, then cool rapidly, dry, bag, and freeze. I've never understood why blanching is important. We usually just freeze. Does anyone know?

Then went out for a walk with Tans. Down to the lodge to deliver eggs to G&P, and back for a dip in the sea, a run around N's park to dry off (Tanni, not me!), and back home. Went to see Adrian who is working on A's house, doing some rough casting (pebble dashing).

I can put my feet up now..

Think this pic is a bit grainy, due to high shutter speed and low light levels, but it adds charachter..
