After the rain...

The first day of October brought rain and storms to our holiday location in Sicily.  We escaped much of it by driving out to Segesta to have a look at another temple: after a steep climb to  view it we set out by car for a restaurant, advertised at the temple site, which promised traditional Sicilian cooking.  It did, but only after a very hairy drive (poor Mr MC was pilot today) along unmade roads through farmland!  After a substantial lunch, we returned to the villa to be greeted by more rain, a  rainbow and a bevy of excited kittens!
And my pictures today?  The main blip is a rather soggy hibiscus, bravely putting up its face after yet another shower.
Extra #1 is my entry for Abstract Thursday: a shot of the stone at the foot of the temple, colour inversion plus some hdr effect and cropping.
Extra #2 made me think of Derelict Thursday: abandoned washing (or it looked so) several yards from our restaurant in the middle of nowhere!
