The Adventures of Sophie.

I hardly slept a wink last night waiting for this morning.

I collected Daughter Number 2 from her dads at 7 o'clock this morning ready to take her on her Adventure of a life time.

The trouble is, I dont know when I will see her again and whilst I admire her bravery and wish her all the fun in the world, I cant help but feel sad and lost without her.

We had a few issues at the airport when she went to check in. She's off to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and then Australia (where she may settle) but because she had a one way ticket, she was warned she may not be allowed to enter Thailand once off the plane, despite having a flight booked to Australia. She was advised to book a train or coach ticket out of Thailand. She panicked at this stage and  the emotion of leaving her home, boyfriend and mummy  got a bit much and she burst into tears.

We had lots of cuddles, I calmed her down and off she went with 2 girl friends. An hour or so later she messaged me to say she had booked a hostel in Laos so hopefully she will get further than Bangkok airport!

Seeing your daughter walk off round a corner not knowing when I will see her again was a pretty tough thing to experience.

Another friend of mine from Somerset was also off on her hols today, so I popped to the Travel Lodge at Gatwick where she was staying overnight and joined her for breakfast. I havnt seen her since last summer so it was great to catch up for a few hours and a welcome distraction.

Ive been to work this afternoon to help take my mind off my feelings and just got a message from Sophie Poke to say they had landed at Dubia. They have another 6 hour flight. Guess who wont be turning her phone off tonight!!!!

Sorry for the rambling. Just wanted to say how I felt. Like Poop.

But I do wish her a fabulous time (and I didnt fuss about as much as the other Mummy that was there) and now is the right time to do it, but I hope she comes home again one day!!!

Night night.

xXx
