Siena Cathedral

Although it's a great place, it was good to get away from Florence this one day. We went to San Gimignano, a small medieval village with some of the large towers the families built for themselves still standing. Florence had towers too, over 200 in their heyday.
Then we visited Siena, the long time competitor and foe of Florence. In the 16th century it became overshadowed by Florence, lost importance and therefore stayed smaller and more medieval. This is it's cathedral from the inside.
