The lust of the mohicans

Not a brilliant shot, but two of these tufted sparrow types were flapping in a coquettish manner - all 'round the manor... Luka called me out to see the birds 'with mohicans' - closet twitcher that one! (Although at 7, it's probably too early for such labels) He's been a star as my second pair of eyes on both birds & insects!

Mohican - also Mahican..
The tribe's name for itself (autonym) was Muh-he-con-neok, or "People of the waters that are never still." Joining with the Munsee in Wisconsin, they have formed a federally recognized tribe known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohican Indians.
