Blood Moon
Last night my daughter telephoned me to tell me to look at the Moon, I could not see it, it had not risen high enough to make it visible from my location. My insomniac husband woke me during the early hours of this morning to tell me that it looked very bright, then a while later he realized that the Lunar Eclipse was taking place.
I got very cold taking pictures, we have double-glazing and I had to have the patio doors open because taken through the glass gave a double image; I had forgotten to put on a dressing gown!
Today’s picture is as ‘total’ as my camera and lens, hand held, could get; it is shown exactly as it was taken, just cropped a little.
As to what I shall do for the rest of the day, I will probably be very short-tempered due to lack of sleep, so maybe not a lot!
The last Blood Moon occurred in 1982 and there will not be another one until 2033; I hope I am still around to see it.
Footnote: The time shown on my exif data is incorrect, it states this was taken at 0243 hours; it was actually taken 46 minutes later at 0329 hours. The maximum eclipse was at 0347 hours (London) so this was taken eighteen minutes before its maximum.
