Lunch at the UN
Today I was working from home so went to a local cafe "Cafe Soma" with Andreas. It's hard to believe you're still in Kathmandu when you can order a latte, use the wifi and browse through the book shop.
We didn't do as much as we should have as I was picking Andreas's brain about trekking and travelling in Nepal. Andreas was in Geneva when I was there and came out to Kathmandu in December to do research for his masters thesis. He is just back from a long expedition in the mountains for research and is leaving in the next 3 weeks to go home to Norway before starting a job at the Norwegian mission in Geneva.
After a good blether we went to meet Sheila (Andreas's girlfriend), David (flatmate at time who just left) and Jess (new flatmate and friend since arrival) for lunch at the UN. We collected open momos on the way and ate on the roof. It was very nice to see the UN grounds and not difficult to get in at all! I did some work that afternoon and in the evening we all went to the cinema as it's only about £2.50 and you get to spend an hour or two in an air conditioned room. Everyone went to see prometheus but me being a scaredy cat saw Snow White and the Hunstman.
