Belly button

Today the weather surpassed itself in its awfulness. I didn't even have scurrying office workers with umbrellas to photograph. No one went out.

I had errands to do so decided to it the bullet, pay the congestion charge and do them by car.

Fully expecting London to be gridlocked with commuters jumping into their cars to avoid the rain, I was pleasantly surprised. Very few cars on the road.

Errand one was in Clerkenwell and with a few minutes left on the meter I walked into Wilmington Square where I found this dark tree, slick with rain. It looks like it's stretching its arms up after a big yawn.
