Jackson WY to Twin Falls ID
Day 8. Today we headed out the south end of the Grand Tetons and made a stop at the extraordinary National Museum of Wildlife Art, which opened in 1994, on the road just before Jackson, Wyoming. Modeled after a Scottish castle set on a hill in the Jackson hole landscape overlooking the national Elk Refuge, it has an amazing collections of old and new wildlife painting from all over the world and a gorgeous outdoor sculpture trail. This is part of artist Ai Weiwei’s exhibition of “circle of animals/zodiac heads" inspired by a fountain made in the 1700s for the emperor of China. (the building is in the back and there is even a moose sculpture lurking in back of the post… :-)
with this late but worthwhile start, we only made it to Twin Falls , Idaho, and had a look at some BASE jumpers going off the 486 ft.Perrine Bridge we came over (the extra_.,. and we had a lovely dinner sitting on the edge of this Snake River Canyon watching the sun go down on the bridge….(the other extra)
