Mount Greylock
Drove to the summit of Mt Greylock, Massachussetts' highest peak this morning for more stunning views of the surrounding countryside. This road is a lot more straightforward than that on Mt Washington.
The monument here is dedicated to all those people from the State who have lost their lives in the service of their country.
Another beautiful blue-sky day but thought the mono treatment suited the name
In the late 19 th century, this mountain had been seriously De-forested to provide wood and charcoal for the local cotton industry in North Adams. Fortunately the local industrialists were farsighted enough to put a conservation programme in place, later taken on by the state and is now thickly forested again.
We then drove round to the Hancock Shaker Village but were too late to have enough time to do it justice.
