Warner Theater, Torrington, CT

Couldn't resist adding a bit of vintage treatment to this wonderful piece of Art Deco Americana, which is right opposite the hotel we're staying in tonight.

We drove through the Litchfields area today in warm Autumnal sunshine. We stopped to add another covered bridge to our list at Cornwall, walked the trail up the waterfall at Kent Falls State Park, had lunch in well-heeled Kent, stopped by the lake in Mount Tom State Park to read in the sunshine then stopped to look round leafy Litchfield.

Torrington gives the impression that it survives on the Warner Theater and Nutmeg Performing Arts Conservatory next door and has a general air of faded grandeur.

We drove back to Litchfield for a dinner of chilli, cornbread and blue cheese salad followed by pumpkin cheesecake. Delicious!
