Blue-footed Boobies mating dance
I feel like I'm in a David Attenborough programme - this place is magical, despite the rough seas at night - I hadn't realised how far apart the islands were, so we sail all night to move on.
We were out at 7.30am today to South Plaza island where we saw more sea lions then land iguanas and marine ones. The male land ones were bigger and yellower. We had a walk around - the iguanas have their own territory under a cactus and they feed on the fruit that the birds get off. The marine ones have teeth to eat algae whereas land ones don't. Watched the birds on the cliffs - a lovely one with long tail, plus birds with red feet and red eyes, swallow tailed gulls. Back to boat after 2 hours and got snacks and juice. Mr C went off in zodiac with "experienced snorkellers" and I read my book on a sunbed - no sun, quite humid. He saw some pretty fish so I'm determined to give it a go tomorrow.
We all went to North Seymour island for another walk - dry landing again, on rocks, and saw blue footed boobies doing a mating dance, even bigger land iguanas, plus frigate birds very close, and sea lions.
I don't think she is too impressed with his dancing techniques.
