Always such a good idea to learn Spanish....before you arrive, or as soon as you can, once you are here!
Easier said than done!
Having a good command of the language can enhance the whole "Spanish experience".......

Regional languages such as Catalan, Valenciana, Galego, Euskera (Basque), Asturiano and Extremeño are all seeing a resurgence.......they are not widely used by foreigners .......but I know some fellow Blippers are progressing with their local language, too!
