Not where we were supposed to be
Last night the weather deteriorated big time, high winds heavy rain and this morning the MWIS weather forecast is predicting 40-60 mph winds above 500m and cloud base at 400 - 600m. As our planned route takes us to 750 plus we both felt that the best thing to do was find an alternative route.
So we caught the bus to Pooley Bridge and here am I walking over Heughscar Fell on the way to Shap. Still a long day at about 12 miles but at least it's all below 400m.
Rain gave out mid morning but started again for the last 2 miles into Shap, the gov was not amused.
No drying room at the pub so the bedroom looks like widow twanky's wash-house.
Luckily the room had several pictures hanging on the wall that we could take off and hang up coat hangers with wet clothes. We will put the pics back tomorrow.
England beat Sweden, the place was in uproar.
