Flight home from Lisbon
Case packed night before as it was earlyish alarm at 7am ready for the taxi pick up at 7.30. The airport is in the city so we were there just before 8 and a last pastry and coffee before the gate opened for the bag drop.
Enjoyed Lisbon more than it imagined I would. The old town is fantastic for wandering around, a photographers dream really, so much to see. Food was fantastic, simply cooked, not pretentious in the least which I prefer and fresh ingredients. It's very easy to get around with a daily ticket of only €6 getting you on metro, bus or the tourist tram. Puts our overpriced public transport to shame. The only gripe I had was the side streets having dog jobbies scattered around. There was one giant one just at the main door to get in our courtyard which was disgusting as someone walked on it and it was scattered around so for two days had to navigate the clean bits. YUK!!
The time at the coast was very good too with a stunning coastline to explore.
And after the non summer here in Scotland it was fantastic to be walking around in warm sunshine. It's def a place to return to.
This is us waiting to board our plane back to Edinburgh watching the lucky people just arriving and alighting our aircraft and going on the bus to the other Terminal.
Now, where to next. This wanderlust is getting worse the older I get. :)
