The Treshnish Walk

We went for a late afternoon walk after exploring in the car. The light was fantastic with the sun breaking through racing clouds.

The Treshnish circuit up and across the 'green glen' and down through the abandoned village of Carcaig (?) is fantastic. As we made the descent down to the raised beach I noticed a face profile in the cliff that reminded me of Joey (in Friends) mix up when he called Mount Rushmore 'Count Rushmore'.

It was only by pointing the profile out to The Principal that we noticed a Golden Eagle gliding imperiously above us.

It turned out to be a long trek back but a nip of Bowmore whisky helped on the final level stage. By our return the light was fading and the wind was getting cold.

The main photo is an homage to Treshnish and her splendid evening, sunset and Northern lights photos through trees. Its looking towards Ulva and Gometra through an heroic tree clinging on to the steep slopes beneath Carcaig.

And a rare (for me) monochrome) of a dyke end that feels a bit like the puzzle of our lives at the moment.
